I was just reading some stuff I wrote a few years ago and
came across this. Sorta fits with this time of year, winter,
Advent, Christmas, etc. Especially for us in central Canada
where it is already quite dark and cold by December. [sorry
this is on so late! Ant]
Embraced in fearful stillness,
time stands, in the vision of my soul,
flakes of snow float past
my newly opened eyes...
...day as dark as night,
and sun sits idly by...
how came I to this hope desert of a place,
where spring is just a fairy tale,
well told in another place...
...and how I wish I could lie so still,
while a hundred pale suns drift by,
the prophecy to fulfil...
...that even this eternal,
cold dark death,
one day must die.
