Tearfund
is campaigning for tourism to bring a greater contribution
towards development, particularly in developing countries
where our partners work. We have been focusing on tour operators
and on tourists helping both parties to take their
responsibility more seriously.
During 2002 Tearfunds Tourism campaign is focussing
on The Right to Know. Information on the impact of our holidays
should be available, and tour operators have a responsibility
to provide us with this information. Tearfund wants to see
tour operators reporting on their work so that they can learn
and improve and so that consumers can make informed choices
