TEARFUND'S YEAR TEAM - HAVE YOU GOT WHAT IT TAKES?

  • Work two days a week for Tearfund networking and communicating to promote concern for the poor.

  • Work three days a week for a local community project/church.

  • Depending on your placement and interests, experience can be gained in; community development, church and detached youth work, event organising, schools work, assisting the director of an organisation/department/ministry, recruiting volunteers, networking, prison ministry, student work, exhibitions/conferences.

  • Role requires someone who can inspire, motivate and develop relationships with youth workers, students, teachers and church leaders within the region.

  • Experience of communicating directly with children, young people and students is desirable. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are also required.

  • Program Training includes:
    Two-three week overseas trip to visit Tearfund partners in the developing world.
    Optional accredited Bible training course.

  • Programme runs from September to August, with placements located around the country.

  • Cost for the year is £2300, which includes: Overseas trip, Tearfund training and external courses. You will be expected to cover your accommodation costs, living expenses and food, which we estimate to be around £2200, including pocket money.
