I was on the train talking to God one day and asking Him why it was that I had so many problems accepting His love and His identity for me. He said 'Because you don't know me'. A little blunt maybe, but totally to the point - if we knew the real truth of the real character of God then we wouldn't struggle with condemnation because we would know the truth of His grace and salvation, or lack motivation to reach out to the lost because we would know how he feels, or find it hard to pray or read the word because we would know the sort of person we are meeting with when we do this.

COLOUR: From ancient liturgy to modern times, colours have been used by believers to represent different aspects of God. They can also be used to represent the way we are feeling.

CONTEXT
CHARACTER: Use the powerpoint to play over you words that describe God - they describe His character and also include the names of Jesus from revelation. Let the words speak over you and let those which catch your attention settle to your heart and let God speak about that word, that aspect of His character into your heart.

COLOUR: Use the colours as a way to be real with your feelings before God - using a piece of paper the colour you feel, write how you are feeling. God knows your feeling and you are honouring Him by being real - whether it's full of praise, angry, confused, thankful, hurt - whatever.
